Pre-season actions: Maintenance

Maintenance readiness covers electrical systems, generators and vehicles, plumbing, and structural checks for rapid storm preparation.

Electrical

• Ensure underground cable holes and trench systems leading to AGL building, terminal building, and central generating station (CGS) can be blocked at short notice.
• Ensure underground cable holes leading to navigation equipment (VOR/NDB) can be blocked.
• Secure a portable water pump.
• Ensure AC units and accessories are fastened and secured.

Mechanical

• Ensure all portable generators are serviceable, including a generator for the Meteorological Office.
• Ensure all vehicles are serviceable.

Plumbing

• Coordinate with Fields and Grounds to clean around the water tank if not already completed.
• Ensure all water valves are serviceable.
• Check that water truck is serviceable.
• Ensure lift pump for sewer lagoon is serviceable.

Building and structures

• Check storm drains and downpipes.
• Ensure chainsaw is serviceable.
• Clear debris-prone areas on ramp and near facilities.
