Warning issued actions: Maintenance

Maintenance teams should secure systems, utilities, structures, and vehicles for immediate storm protection and post-storm recovery.

Electrical

• Switch off all electrical mains and standby power generators.
• Install portable 11 KW generator as backup in baggage make-up area for Meteorological Office IT core room.
• Ensure adequate fuel, oil, power cord, and lighting for backup generator operations.
• Assign an electrician to the CGS.
• Cover all CGS equipment, including generator control equipment.

Air Conditioning

• Ensure all AC units and accessories are fastened and secured.
• Switch off all AC units.

Plumbing

• Check lift pump for sewer lagoon.
• Ensure Mobile 25 is filled with fuel and oil.
• Close all pipe mains.
• When hurricane watch is issued, coordinate with NAWASA to fill reserve water tanks.

Mechanical

• Place all MBIA vehicles in inbound baggage area and ensure all are filled with fuel.

Building and structures

• Secure terminal building, tower, and CGS windows and doors with plywood or metal sheeting as needed.
• Remove potted plants and unsecured terminal items to protected locations.
• Secure television monitors, including flight information display monitors, in the IT building.
